Slinkachu

Browsing my old favourites today and came across Slinkachu's latest offering - a book of his tiny installations, called Global Model Village. Good enough to own and one is on its way right now to my door. If you don't know this artist's work, do yourself a favour.

Er, yes. That was the year that was.

Nothing like keeping one's blog current.

Well, here are a couple of photos from my recent wanderings in France, specifically, Paris and Brive.

Precious little pieces

I stumbled across this artist's work today and wanted to share it. How refreshingly simple, and what patience these sculptures demand. Gorgeous.

Sydney Toy Town

This is wonderful! Using a technique known as tilt shift with time lapse photography, Keith Loutit has made a series of videos in which the people and objects look like toys. I especially love The North Wind Blew South. It's fun to see familiar places on Sydney Harbour in this unfamiliar way!

Generous to a fault

Ooh, I have to blog this beautiful thing ... a group of ten New York artists (they call themselves The Federation of Students and Nominally or Unemployed Artists) raised $100 each and then spent 4 hours giving it away to passers-by who explained their dreams and personal projects to them. No ifs, no buts, no strings attached, just free grants to help people achieve their goals.

I watched the video with a grin from ear to ear!

Lightpainting pianissimo bellissimo

I love these light paintings and this one gets my vote for humour!
